Philippine Taekwondo team run with gold, silver, bronze in SEA Games

The Philippine Taekwondo team started its campaign in the 2011 South East Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday in explosive fashion, spelling a possible dominance of the said discipline.

The Jins did well in the Poomsae events, starting with the Marvin Gabriel getting the bronze of the Individual Men’s Poomsae.

Gabriel then teamed up with  Shaneen Ched Sia to grab the silver in the Open Poomsae Pairs event.

Meanwhile, the bemedalled trio of Rani Ann Ortega, Camille Alarilla and Janice Lagman got the expected gold in the Women’s Poomsae Team.

With the three medals, the Pinoy Poomsae Jins hiked up the Philippines’ medal haul to six.

The taekwondo team won a total of four golds in the 2009 edition of the games in Laos.
