| Azkals vs LA Galaxy |
The awaited exhibition match between the Philippine Azkals and the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy is now underway.
The game is taking place at the historic Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
The Galaxy's starting roster is composed of Omar Gonzales, Sean Franklin, Frankie Hejduk, Chris Birchall, Landon Donovan, Josh Saunders, Robbie Keane, Mike Magee, AJ DelaGarza, David Beckham and Bryan Jordan.
The Azkals' first 11 is made up of Rob Gier, Anton del Rosario, James Younghusband, Manny Ott, Phil Younghusband, Angel Guirado, Chieffy Caligdong, Chris Greatwich, Ed Sacapano, Jason Sabio and Ray Jonsson.
Although seen by most fans as the underdogs, the Azkals assured they will give the Galaxy a competitive fight.
“Papakitaan namin sila ng magandang laban sa Saturday,” said Azkals co-team captain Chieffy Caligdong.
The Galaxy, led by football superstar David Beckham, said they are not underestimating the Azkals.
“We play every game to win. Every team we play against want to beat us. We always go into the game wanting to win,” said the British football icon.
